Distance: ~ 47 miles
The European Classic: Liege-Bastonge-Liege is the oldest of the single day classics and hence the nickname La Doyenne (“the old one/woman”). This race of ~270 km takes in a series of very steep climbs (côtes) of 1-4 km in the Belgian Ardenne. Usually won by a powerful rider who can also climb with the best.
GTC Classic Course Description: This hilly (>1000 m climbing) ~75 km ride traverses smooth, quiet roads in Gwinnett and Walton counties with one very short 17% section. A shorter 58 km option is available. Maps provided.
Directions: Ride leaves from Harbins elementary school near Dacula. From I-85, take highway 316 east 21 km and make a right on Harbins road. Follow for 5 km and make a right on New Hope road. Harbin ES is immediately on the right.
